The Alberts Pattern in Organizations

Presentation that discussed the Alberts Pattern. Delivered at the Industrial and Systems Engineering Conference, ITESM, Campus Leacuteon, Mexico, 31 January 1997. For further information on the Alberts Pattern, see Institute for the Advanced Study of Integrative Sciences (IASIS) report titled “Contrasts” which was presented at the 19 November session of NASA Systems Requirements 4 (REQ4), a Short Course held at Holiday Inn Executive Center, Greenwich Rd, Virginia Beach, VA, 17-22 November 1996.

The document or paper used for this talk is missing. (In the case of presentations, or talks, sometimes no formal manuscript was ever done, but Rose tried to keep a record of each of the talks with a date and place it was given, just in case some papers on this event might turn up later we would know where to file them.)

There are several references to Alberts' work and the Alberts pattern, but all are in transparencies and maybe slides. As far as I can tell, there are no full documents by this name, although the subject must be pretty thoroughly discussed in Henry Alberts' own writings, his dissertation, especially. (Redesigning the United States Defense Acquisition System. Doctoral dissertation for Ph.d at City University, London, 1995, by Henry C. Alberts. -- can be found in the Special Collections & Archives, Fenwick Library, GMU with the call number UC263 .A43 1995.)

NOTE: The Alberts Pattern appears in the IASIS report titled "Contrasts" (on page 46 and 47, two versions).
