Foundations of Thought. Pages 5-39 of Notebook #1 prepared for Mathematics of Modeling Workshop

Review of the development of human beginning with the ancient Greeks. Covers broad range of topics relating to logic and the development of human knowledge. Emphasis placed on thinkers including Aristotle and Charles Sanders Peirce who have particularly influenced his thinking. Part of the study materials for a workshop held 21 June - 2 July 1993 at ITESM (Instituto Tecnologico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey) in Mexico.

. Foundations of Thought was part of the study materials for a workshop to be held 21 June- 2 July 1993 at ITESM (Instituto Tecnologico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey) in Mexico. Warfield said that the paper was begun in March 1993, and that it was still in an incomplete form, but he was printing it to use for the workshop coming in June. Part 1 of the Workshop was titled "Foundations of Thought" and Part 2 was titled "Mathematical and Graphical Aspects" There is no clear cut manuscript or transparency list for each of the three math of modeling courses. The material has all been lumped together over the years. Here is the list of the three courses: 27-21 July 1992, a Workshop course for ITESM - titled "Mathematics for Modeling;" 18-22 January 1993, a Workshop course for TIPP (videotaped) - titled "Mathematics Modeling;" 21-25 June 1993, Workshop course for ITESM, follow-up on July 1992 course - titled " A Science of Design."
