In 1991, Roxana Cárdenas (Professor and Department Chairman, Instituto Technologico de Monterrey, Mexico) was a visiting scholar at Warfield's Institute of Advanced Study in the Integrative Sciences in Fairfax, Virginia, and had an opportunity to read Warfield's first printing of the Handbook. In this paper, she makes many suggestions for the improvement and reorganization of Warfield's Handbook of Interactive Management. Her comments were particularly valuable because they were from the standpoint of the foreign scholars with whom Warfield hoped to communicate his ideas, and possibly would not have been able to do so as effectively because of language barriers. Warfield adopted all or nearly all of Cárdenas' suggestions, as far as I know, and requested her collaboration on the rewriting of the manuscript for the next edition. When the new edition was published she was named as co-author.

Cardenas's originally written computer file is missing, but we have a printout. Also we have a digitized, scanned copy which Rose Warfield made of her printout. It is quite likely that Cardenas's original paper is still somewhere on Warfield's computer. If the computer file is ever found, Rose will discard the scanned version, and put Cárdenas' own computer file in its place.
