This is a rough collection of notes/correspondence/talk outline, etc. The presentation was made before a meeting of GMU's Deans and Directors, held in the Finley Board Room, George Mason University on 7 Dec. 7, 1988. The draft outline for the talk, with memo dated 16 Nov. 16, 1988, was sent to Provost Clara Lovett. Also dated 16 November 16, 1988, are handouts to be used at the presentation, in which the author proposes a new type of university, in which he uses the term "Interactive University" to encompass his vision of a new type of higher education, in which the emphasis is upon "understanding, designing and managing large and complex systems". ? EDUCATION PAPERS BY WARFIELD, contains this paper in VOL5.DOC (p 113) . ?The manuscript in the folder JWPAPERS has been retyped, copied into Microsoft Word files, by Bonnie Seitz*, Until John retired we kept In an office file cabinet the original pages from which Bonnie made her MSWord version and those pages are now at George Mason University's Special Collections in Box 24 Folder 6 The Accopress binder holds hard copies of all of six articles written by other authors which Warfield used as references. Copies of a bibliography listing the articles were distributed to the audience, as part of his presentation. . R.W. circa 2000, updated possibly in 2008, final update April 15, 2015. *Bonnie Seitz retyped about 60 documents, copying them from WordPerfect into MS Word for the Education Papers by Warfield collection. Although Bonnie faithfully proof-read every single line of every document, (her husband helped her in a team proof-read system) there is always a possibility of words, phrases, figures that Bonnie got wrong because she knew nothing of the subject matter. She worked very hard on these papers, but since mistakes would be inevitable in such an arrangement, all her typed papers still SHOULD BE PROOF READ and the figures drawn by Bonnie in MS WORD compared with drawings and figures in original WordPerfect pages. John himself has never had time to do this, although he did proof-read some Word documents at the time he was editing them for use in IASIS REPORTS, such as the Blue Bibliography, for instance.
