Self-Study Program Development Guides for Warfield Literature

This guide was written as a final report for a teaching/research contract sponsored by Defense Systems Management College. The report follows on Warfield’s time teaching classes to DSMC faculty and staff and assisting in planning and conducting Interactive Management workshops. It is prepared to help the reader develop a self-study program regarding complexity, system design, Interactive Management, or some combination of these three. 

The full title is: “Self-Study Program Development Guides for Warfield Literature: A Report submitted to Defense Systems Management College, Ft. Belvoir, Virginia, Contract Number MDA903-90-C-0192.”  Study topics are organized into the following categories: Large Scale System Design; Organizations; Organizational Change; Learning Organization; Interactive Management Workshops; Interactive Management Software. The guide gives the titles and locations of 21 available study resources, including: Books, Excerpts from books, The IASIS File cabinet, Reports, Papers, Transparencies, Annotated bibliographies, Interactive Management software. All of these resources have been supplied to the Defense Systems Management College.

Pages 1-31, is a series of tables giving references for resources and outlines for their use in various combinations. THE REMAINDER OF THE SELF-STUDY GUIDE is a collection of EXCERPTS from Warfield's publications and works-in-progress. Pages 33-96 contain excerpts from Warfield's "Mathematics of Modeling" short course and book manuscripts. Pages 97-168 contain excerpts from Warfield's A Science of Generic Design, Volumes I and II. Pages 169-209 contain excerpts from Warfield & Cardenas A Handbook of Interactive Management. (r.w. circa 2007, updated Dec 18, 2017)
