TIME OUT WHILE WE CHANGE DRUMMERS was a title first used for a small compendium of three articles bound all in one cover with a short preface. At the end of the compendium, an Appendix contained copies of the brochures from Iowa State University Press for Warfield's two books, Handbook of Interactive Management and A Science of Generic Design. Also there was an ISU Press order form for reader's use in ordering the two published books described in the brochures. The three articles printed in the report were: 1. "Silver Anniversary: Twenty-Five Years of Research on Complexity" written 4 October 1993 2. "Spreadthink: Explaining Ineffective Groups" dated December 1994. (This article was later published in the journal Systems Research) 3. "Structural Thinking: Organizing Complexity Through Disciplined Activity" dated January 1995(This article was also later printed in the journal Systems Research) Warfield printed several copies of this earlier "Time Out..." and distributed it during 1995 to various people. My notes give the first printing date of "Time Out..." as January, 1995, but it must have had a few editing revisions, because the only disk that I can find gives a date of 7 November 1995, when I backed up a copy for archiving. Nowadays, I can't even find the backup, so don't know the file name any more.

There is another manuscript with this same title of "Time Out While We Change Drummers" which is A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT MANUSCRIPT WHICH IS PART 2 OF A DRAFT BOOK MANUSCRIPT "COMPLEXITY AND DRUMMERS." This makes it pretty confusing, since there is no resemblance or connection whatever between the 2 MANUSCRIPTS, except for their identical titles. But at this time, Warfield does not print or distribute either one, so I will just forget about it.
