I have a memo that we sent this stuff to GMU library, but no firm date, following his 15 Nov. talk at Tokyo's Miel Park Hotel ( for a Univ of Tokyo scientific conference where he had been invited to speak) Warfield went out to Kawasaki for most of the day, where he gave a long seminar type talk to the Hitachi systems group. I suppose he took some slides with him, and a course outline, but Lord knows where it is now, probably some place on his computer. He definitely used a selection of slides from a group which he later collected together under one title and printed in a IASIS "Report" which he titled "Origins and Remedies." As for the Hitachi talk per se, we do have a letter in the manuscript file from Motohisa Funabashi, whose title was "chief researcher" at Hitachi Labs, in which he thanked Warfield for the talk, and sent us a snapshot of himself standing with Warfield and Koichi Haruna in front of the Hitachi labs building. We made several photocopies of the letter and photo, to keep in the office manuscript files. (I think I saved the photo and put it in the family album.) The Hitachi folks also gave Warfield a very beautiful Japanese cloisonné vase on the same day, as a gift for the talk.
