This was written for a second edition of the GUIDE TO WARFIELD COLLECTION, but was never used because it directed reader toward two appendices which in the end were not printed in the GUIDE. When first written, the GUIDE was not planned for formal publication, merely as a reference notebook for the Special Collections desk to have on hand for visitors. Had that remained the case then this document would have been perfect. However, Mr. Paul Koda, head of Special Collections, desired to print the GUIDE AS A FORMAL PUBLICATION, to which Warfields agreed, and as a result the two lengthy appendices were withdrawn because they had already been published in journals and therefore could not be published again as part of the book. For the published GUIDE, Warfield revised this page, directing readers to search out the published journal articles on their own. This lessened the value of the second edition GUIDE for visitors to the library, as well as any other reader. The lack of the two appendices made for a smaller, thinner 2nd edition GUIDE, which eventually was misplaced in shipment to a bindery, and IS STILL MISSING AS OF THE YEAR 2014.
