This is a guide for the software being sold by Bill Rodger, Desyma Decision Technologies, Inc. 3424 Greenland Road, Dunrobin, Ontario K0A 1T0 , CANADA. Tel: 613-832-3475 Warfield wrote this user guide in December 1996, at the time he was practicing with Bill Rodger's ISM Software, trying to learn how to use it. He wrote directions in a step by step format, as the software would be used during a typical IM Process. He hoped to make the directions simple enough so that Rose Warfield could follow them successfully, but she hasn't had time to try it out yet. Warfield's note on the front cover of his User's Guide: "The term 'BRIMS' was invented by John Warfield to distinguish the 'academic' version' of the User Guide which he wrote from the commercial version which came from Canada. BRIMS is an acronym that represents 'Bill Rodger's Interactive Management Software'. Bill Rodger is the chief executive of a Canadian corporation called DESYMA, and the commercial name for the software package is 'Synergistic Solutions'. DESYMA is not responsible for any errors in this document." NOTE: The GMU Finding Aid for Warfield Collection lists 3 more BRIMS documents of which I have no record, must have been some more stuff sent at the same time as this and which I didn't bother to write down, the 3 items at Fenwick Library are in Box 11, Folders 7, 8. & 9. They are titled: "Brims Application Bulletin #1 Supporting ISM," [John N. Warfield], 1996 "Brims Application Bulletin #2 Supporting ISM," [John N. Warfield], 1996 "Brims Application Bulletin #1 Supporting the Nominal Group Technique (NGT)," [John N. Warfield], 1996.
