Notes on the Ford Product Information Management (PIMS) Workshop Held During the Period January 11-14, 1994

Sent to GMU 27 September 2007. This document is an accompaniment to the DVDs in Box 88 of Warfield Collection titled "Product Information Management Systems (PIMS) Workshop At Ford Motor Company, January 11-14, 1994" and or the videos with the same title in Box 87. SEE ALSO the records in AudioVisuals table under the Series title: "Ford PIM Workshop" SEE ALSO these two records in Textual Materials table titled 1) "Excerpts: Interactive Management (IM) Workshop - Product Information Management System (PIMS): A First Look." 2) "Demo Tape: Excerpts from FORD PIM Workshop filmed Jan. 11-14, 1994 in Dearborn, Michigan." In May 2007 Warfield watched the entire set of 13 DVDs, and made written comments on what is happening onscreen. Each written comment of Warfield's notes is correlated with a time code number on the DVD screen, so that viewers can match the document with the video. The result is a handy study guide for the video, which should be supplied to viewers with every showing of this Workshop video, it will contribute vastly to an understanding of what ISM session is all about. Warfield's manuscript had been in 6 point font, to fit a tiny green spiral memo notebook which he thought he might use when giving workshop lectures. Rose Warfield changed the font to readable 12 point, and the manuscript is now 16 pages of comments by Warfield on the conduct of the IM workshop as it is played on the video recording. The 16 page version needs to be shaped up with a little editing, to get topics and paragraphs together on the same page, but at least it is more readable than the 6 point font version.
