Aristotle and Peirce: Two Views on Diagrams

Exploration of Aristotle and Peirce’s views on the value of diagrams used to support Warfield’s idea of an observatorium.

Warfield’s opening paragraph as the abstract for this short paper: "It appears that Aristotle (384 B. C.-322 B. C.) and Charles Sanders Peirce (1839-1914) had similar thoughts about the value of diagrams in thinking. The purpose of this article is to cite comments that indicate the merits of the foregoing remark."
