Status: These transparencies used for the talk were not published. But the manuscript portion was published in a 1988 Proceedings volume, and we have a PDF scan copy of the Offprint, in addition to this ms with transparencies. (SEE ID 00499) Prepared for a talk before the European Conference on Cybernetics and Systems-EMCSR, at the University of Vienna, Austria, 4-8 April 1988. These transparencies belong with a presentation which Warfield gave first in Vienna in April 1988, and later in Mexico in December 1989. The manuscript for his talk, but not the slides, was published in Proceedings of the EMCSR conference. This PDF file is a scan of contents of an old Accopress binder in which Rose found printouts of the transparencies, which are numbered LD-1 though LD-26 in lower corner of the page. (SEVERAL OTHER NUMBERING SYSTEMS CAN BE SEEN TOO, SINCE SOME OF THE TRANSPARENCY PAGES WERE STORED UNDER VARIOUS TITLES AND FOR DIFFERING PRESENTATIONS.) Rose Warfield scanned all 26 transparency printouts along with Warfield's original 9-page typed manuscript marked with his handwritten notes. The transparencies are pitiful, but nevertheless they might serve as a pattern for a similar set of slides in PowerPoint with better format, in which case this talk would be usable by teachers working with ISM, since the problem of linguistics in systems theory is still unsolved.
