Curriculum Workshop: Mathematics for Computer Science, Tape 1 of 5

The first session of an Interactive Management workshop for the National Science Foundation (NSF), NSF Grant No. DMC-8615486, 10 November 1986. See also, “Curriculum Workshop: Mathematics for Computer Science: Tape 2 of 5,” “Curriculum Workshop: Mathematics for Computer Science: Tape 3 of 5,” “Curriculum Workshop: Mathematics for Computer Science: Tape 4 of 5,” and “Curriculum Workshop: Mathematics for Computer Science: Tape 5 of 5.”

This is filming of the first session only, in 1986. This NSF Curriculum Workshop had another session in 1987, which was the culminating session of the workshop activity. Unfortunately, we do not have any videotapes of the 1987 session. Due to the upheaval during the breakup of Center for Interactive Management the tapes were all given away to the GMU television classes for recycling, and the 1987 session tapes were lost before Rose Warfield was able to track them down and rescue them. So we have now only the first 5 tapes from 1986, plus a short 1987 summary film “Designing a Computer Science Curriculum for the 21st Century,”

Both the 1986 and 1987 sessions are covered in the CIM Report written to accompany this workshop titled “Curriculum Workshop: Mathematics for Computer Science, November 10-11, 1986 and May 4, 1987.”
