This workshop was conducted by A. N. Christakis and David Keever. It was held not at George Mason University but instead at a Hyatt Hotel, in the Fair Lakes Industrial Park, in western Fairfax County, next door to the office building where Christakis and Keever were remodeling a large office space for their new venture sponsored by Morfopoulos, to be known as AIIM. The workshop attendees were from a regional power plant in upstate New York. Their major problem was trying to figure out processes for getting one of their inactive nuclear facilities into operation.
Although I heard that this workshop was a really good and successful project, with the decision making procedures appreciated by all who attended, AIIM as a company was sort-lived, due to the parent company (Morfopoulos) running into financial straits later in the year. AIIM disbanded, Christakis moved to Philadelphia and started his own new company there (CWA Ltd.) while David Keever went to work locally for SAIC and both of the two men in their new positions lasted quite well for a long time and continued to use Interactive management processes in their work, under different terminology. The twelve cassettes of the Niagara Mohawk workshop were left behind in John's office at the university, which is how he happened to have the videos to donate to Special Collections and Archives after he retired. Full list of the videos: “Niagara Mohawk Power Corporation Workshop, June 5, 1989, Tape 1 of 12,” “Niagara Mohawk Power Corporation Workshop, June 5, 1989, Tape 2 of 12,” “Niagara Mohawk Power Corporation Workshop, June 5, 1989, Tape 3 of 12,”“Niagara Mohawk Power Corporation Workshop, June 5, 1989, Tape 4 of 12,” “Niagara Mohawk Power Corporation Workshop, June 6, 1989, Tape 5 of 12,” “Niagara Mohawk Power Corporation Workshop, June 6, 1989, Tape 6 of 12,”“Niagara Mohawk Power Corporation Workshop, June 6, 1989, Tape 7 of 12,” “Niagara Mohawk Power Corporation Workshop, June 8, 1989, Tape 8 of 12,” “Niagara Mohawk Power Corporation Workshop, June 6, 1989, Tape 9 of 12,”“Niagara Mohawk Power Corporation Workshop, June 7, 1989, Tape 10 of 12,” “Niagara Mohawk Power Corporation Workshop, June 8, 1989, Tape 11 of 12,” and “Niagara Mohawk Power Corporation Workshop, June 8, 1989, Tape 12 of 12.” (Note that the date sequence is out of order, possibly error when labelled, I copied all these dates exactly as they appear I GMU Finding Aid. I never had opportunity to view the tapes personally, so can’t say what date is correct. I do remember that the workshop participants were so happy with the workshop that they actually worked extra long hours in some sessions, so it is possible there were more video cassettes than usual for a single day) And lastly, GMU Libraries Finding Aid also lists these textual items in Warfield Special Collection: in Box 38, Folder 1 "Installation of a Computer Aided Problem Solving System at Niagara Mohawk Power Corporation," Christakis & Associates Draft Proposal [Alexander N. Christakis], March 15, 1990, and also, in Box 15, Folder 25 "Niagara Mohawk Power Corporation" [Correspondence], 1989-1991
