Sent to GMU on 23 Oct 2000. This video was taped during a 2 -day session held for faculty and staff representatives from Defense Systems Military College, Ft. Belvoir, Virginia, on 15-17 December 1986. The possible benefits of IM method were considered by participants as they identified problems and options for improvement of efficiency and effectiveness. There are Interview segments with J.N. Warfield, Fred Waelchi, Brig. Gen. Cabell and John Snodderly. This was the first Interactive Management session with DSMC. It was not the 3 day session usually demanded by Warfield but rather a first effort to get them interested. At this meeting only one person "got it" that was Prof. Fred Waelchi, who was quite interested and receptive to the ideas which Warfield and Christakis were trying to present. Warfield was hopeful. But unfortunately, Prof. Waelchi died soon after, from a heart attack I believe. Another attendee at this first meeting was Prof. Henry Alberts, who did recognize the potential of the new methodology, continued his interest in Warfield's work, and eventually scheduled many Interactive Sessions both with Warfield's GMU office and also independently in consulting work done by himself, went forward with his education to get a Ph.D even though he was past 60, and ended up teaching internet courses for the University of Maryland for many years thereafter.
