This entire note is just a wild guess, written years after the tape was made, and not being able to see or listen to it from here in Alabama. I have no documents on this audiotape, and I can't listen to it to tell who is on it, but I will make a guess that it is Miss Muffett talking to Warfield in his office. Her questions were so good and Warfield's extemporaneous answers were also so I just grabbed a tape recorder and stuck it in on a desk. I missed getting a lot of their conversation, but figured some was better than none. We didn't make very many audiotapes around the office, too busy to make them, but I do remember taping her interview. There were SO MANY people who came through Warfield's office and sat and talked and asked him questions. If ONLY I had gotten tapes of all of them! His spoken explanations of his ideas were often easier to follow than his technically written articles and books. (Miss Muffett's real name was Margaret Heath, of Johannesburg, South Africa. She was here in September-October 1998 where Warfield gave her a visiting scholar appt for a fall semester.) (r.w. 19 March 2007)
John N. Warfield Discusses Systems Concepts & His Work in Systems Field
A taped discussion between Warfield and a colleague, possibly Margaret Heath. During their conversation Warfield discusses his work in the Systems Field and various Systems concepts. His extemporaneous oral explanations are often more accessible than some of his published writings and might be a good place to start for people unfamiliar with his work.
