Theory of Interfaces.

Summary: Pending
Abstract: This paper is an attempt to tie "choice of acquisition strategy" to "the process of system design". Specifically, I use "system design methodology" to describe the way designers arrive at interfaces between subsystems. Because interfaces tend to be stated in terms of "form, fit, and function", they may provide some insights into how subsystem operating characteristics might be used to select appropriate acquisition strategies.
