Proposal: Center for Interactive System Design (proposal for a DEMOSOPHIA, OR Situation Room)

Summary: Pending
This PROPOSAL was submitted by Benjaim Broome and David Keever to Dr. Scott Staley, Computer-Aided Engineering Department, Ford Research Laboratory, in Dearborn, Michigan, in November, 1992. Dr. Staley then presented the proposal to other persons in Ford Motor Company. Ben Broome and David Keever were both employed and being paid from the GMU research contract with FORD MOTOR COMPANY for the Design of An Analytical Powertrain, with John N. Warfield as the Principal Investigator for the Contract. In the year following, Dr. Staley was successful in obtaining funds from FORD to pay for a room remodeling at FORD, to install most of the specifications outlined in this proposal. The Ford Motor Company's Situation Room room is located in the FORD Rouge Office Building, at 3001 Miller Road, Dearborn, Michigan. The room has been heavily used for Interactive Management workshops ever since. (Pages 3 and 4 of the proposal are left blank to provide space for the floor plans. The floor plans are in separate graphics files on the computer, but we have no graphics software in the IASIS office to convert and print them out. We do have old photo copiesof those floor plans, inside file folder] This file was found by Rose on the old GMU VAX account which had been established for communication with Ford staff, during the IASIS Ford contract. The Ford VAX account was closed in 1994, and at that time Rose downloaded this file to Warfield's IASIS office. On the VAX, the file was named but John changed the filename when he added this document to his own computer, and gave it his own filename (imw036) to correpsond with his classifcation of materials.
