Use of Interpretive Structural Modeling in Environmental Studies at the Senior High Level. Prepared for Office of Environmental Education, HEW Grant No. G007700611

Summary: Pending
An interim report on a federally funded grant sponsored by U.S. Dept. of Education, this is a report on using ISM classroom work with environmental studies, and includes a teacher's guide with lesson plans, in Appendix C of the manuscript.* Abstract: ISM is a computer-aided modeling method to assist a group of people in studying and analyzing complex problems and in designing solutions to the problems. Our research indicates that this experimental use of ISM in a high school classroom is different from other uses of the computer in education. We have shown that high school teachers can learn the ISM method without difficulty...Research sponsored by grant from Office of Environmental Education, HEW. *(Appendix C was also printed and bound by Univ. of Dayton, as a separate report, under the title: Using Computer Modeling in the Classroom to examine Environmental Issues by Wallick & Troha, July 1978) John's term: Comparison papers.
