NOAA Coast Watch Ocean Color Program Planning Workshop.

Summary: Pending
An IM REPORT, with accompanying handwritten note from Christakis. The report discusses the events of the Coast Watch Ocean Color Program Planning Workshop. The goal of the workshop was to develop an action plan for the next 2 years. There are 3 sessions discussed: the strategic planning session, management planning session and the operational planning session. We try to keep a record of all the IM workshops ever done, including this one but all we have in the file is this one-page handwritten letter from Aleco Christakis, addressed to John Warfield, dated January 29, 1993, commenting on the Ocean Color project. Although it is so long ago I can't be sure, I think probably the national headquarters in D.C. printed up a nice NOAA booklet as an aftermath to Dave Mackett's 1992 work in his Southwest Fisheries Center. Apparently Aleco had asked John or me to return the NOAA BOOKLET to him, and I did so. All the IM work for NOAA was done by David Macket, who got Interactive Management processes started at his San Diego fisheries center, with the help of Aleco. David did dozens of IM SESSIONS, but we do not have very many of the reports, Aleco got them all, probably. Later, David Mackett received a special national NOOA citation and award for his work done at SWFS (Southwest Fisheries Center) a division of National Marine Fisheries, which is an arm of National Oceanic Administration, and we have a copy of the NOAA award information in our file cabinet somewhere.
