In this file folder is the 19-page manuscript of this paper, which was sent to JNW from the author, for publication in Syst. Research. A copy of the printed article, as it appeared in published form, is also in our papers by others collection, filed under"SYSTEMS PROFILES". In this article the author maintains that "systems thinking is clearly inadequate throughout the economy and society, in agriculture, transp ortation and even in very high-technology areas such as aerospace manu facturing and space exploration. He argues for a larger proportion of nation's resources to be spent in teaching and research of systems activities and genuine systems research.
