The document or paper used for this talk is missing. (In the case of presentations, or talks, sometimes no formal manuscript was ever done, but Rose Warfield tried to keep a record of each of the talks with a date and place it was given, just in case some papers on this event might turn up later then we would know where to file them.) John gave this presentation for the SGSR Annual Meeting, and if the Society published a YEARBOOK or other proceedings for 1978, the talk was probably in it, or at least mentioned in agenda.  Maybe there are a few documents from 1978 in boxes in Fenwick library, but I doubt it any real full manuscript is there, or John would have saved the hard copy. Or maybe he did save it until his Thompson Hall office was disbanded after Christakis left.  As part of that move, John filled up a lot of boxes with documents and left then in the hall for the trash man.  I went out and hauled most of the boxes back into the new office at G-Module, in 1990, but I wasn't able to get all of them.  [try looking in Fenwick Library collection 1978 folders: Box 4, folder 20; Box 38 Folder 29].

 I do remember that AAAS/SGSR conference at the Mayflower, it  must have been the one where John's book was supposed to on display when Wiley publishers had a stall and exhibit at the conference displaying all their books.  John's new book Societal Systems was promoted with flyers and  I do recall that the Wiley salesman had the first run of printed book which he wanted to show to John completely done except no hard cover on it yet. The hard covers were to be available just a few weeks later. The salesman gave me that unbound first print copy and I kept it for years.  Finally I gave it to Dan who has been using it as reference in effort to create a usable reprint, still working on that, might have available later.
