BRIMS Application Bulletin #01: Supporting the Nominal Group Technique (NGT)

User guide written for first time users of Nominal Group Technique software. BRIMS is an acronym for “Bill Rodger’s Interactive Management Software.” See also, BRIMS Application Bulletin #02: Supporting Interpretive Structural Modeling (ISM).

This is a user guide is in two parts, this one for Nominal Group Technique, and another manuscript for Interpretive Structural Modeling (ISM). This was Warfield's first pass at trying to write a user guide for the Rodger's software that would be more in sync with the actual progress of an IM session. It is written for first-time users, who might not be experienced with using the software. He started this project in December 1996, as a forerunner to taking the BRIMS software to Ghana, for a tryout there during the January 1997 workshops. The term "BRIMS" was invented by Warfield to distinguish the "academic version" of the User Guide which he wrote from the commercial version which came from Canada. BRIMS is an acronym that represents "Bill Rodger's Interactive Management Software." Bill Rodger is the chief executive of a Canadian corporation called DESYMA, and the commercial name for the software package is "Synergistic Solutions." DESYMA is not responsible for any errors in this document.
