Clanthink

A lecture presented at Bell Northern Research Laboratory, Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, on 3 June 1993. See also, "Clanthink (PowerPoint Slides)," which was passed out at the lecture and contains copies of the transparencies used.

Warfields paper "Clanthink" was presented as a talk, (accompanied by about a dozen transparencies) presented at a seminar/meeting on 3 June 1993 at Bell Northern Research Laboratory, a subdivision of Northern Telecom Corporation. The talk was videotaped by Bell Northern, but Warfield does not know what became of the videotape, which he did not ask for, nor did he ever receive a copy of the tape. In addition to the videotaping, this presentation was "networked", e.g. broadcast to other Telecom offices internationally, in a simultaneous broadcast at the time Warfield was speaking, so that questions from the audience were telephoned to the speaker from other locations. During the summer of 1993 Warfield gave this "Clanthink" paper to Carol Tiegen, one of his students, and asked her to enlarge it with additional research and follow-up, which she did, producing eventually a document which John had printed as one of his IASIS monographs, title "Groupthink, Clanthink, Spreadthink and Linkthink, December 1993." See also: "Clanthink, (PowerPoint Slides)" in this database, a spiral bound booklet with copies of the transparencies shown at the lecture, which was given as a handout to the audience.
