An example of an Options Field: Purpose: to design the Next Generation DARPA Information System

An excerpt from a CIM Workshop report, this is a set of 14 pages which comprise the table or diagram of a DARPA options field from an August 1987 Interactive Management Workshop.

Warfield most certainly put this in his own files so he could use it with a class. The manuscript is a set of 14 pages which comprise the table or diagram of a DARPA options field from an August 1987 workshop. The table itself is titled: "Options Field for Designing the Next Generation DARPA Information System." An additional title page, used as a cover page, states that the material is "being distributed by Warfield as an illustration of a group product that is sufficiently detailed to portray a potential system design, once it is converted to an OPTIONS PROFILE." (I have hunted for an August 1987 DARPA workshop report, but found no record of it. However I did find a July 1987 Proposal to DARPA, for design of a management information system, so presumably such a workshop did take place during August, and resulted in this Options Field diagram.) 10 "DARPA Options Field," For Designing Next Generation Information Systems, Center for Interactive Management, 7 August 1987.
