ANNOTATION: An annual report for Grant No. ENG75-17609, submitted to the Systems Theory and Applications Program, Engineering Division, National Science Foundation. This is the 1st of two reports differing in content but having the same title; see also the NSF Final Report, with the same title in IASIS File No. 78/023. The purpose of the NSF grant was to provide a survey of the uses and applications of ISM.
