A Graphics Representations Glossary, Draft and notes

Materials related to unfinished manuscript includes a part called Graphics Representations Glossary, then two appendices, one called Mathematics Glossary and another called Words Glossary. Warfield referred to it as “parts of a project which was never finished.”

GMU has this in three separate folders, in Box 16, folders 1,2, and 3. Written while Warfield was at Battelle, the manuscript seems to be designed as a first part called Graphics Representations Glossary, then two appendices, one called Mathematics Glossary and another called Words Glossary. When I first found this and was filing it sometime in the mid-nineties, Warfield commented that he started quite a few things that remained incomplete because there wasn't any time, or as he said, "putting it another way because there were other things I thought were more important at the time." There are two Accopress note binders full of manuscript pages, plus 4 manila folders full of manuscripts. One notebook contains the 6 August and 14 August 1969 drafts for the Glossary. The other notebook is a workbook, full of notes written while working on the Glossary. In Oct 2000, when cleaning out the files, Warfield confirmed the dates, and said he was working on this topic while at Battelle. This folder holds rough draft materials, which he said should best be kept together, because it is not possible to briefly distinguish which is a duplicate, if any, since he worked on this as well as many other papers intermittently, and returned to the draft manuscripts many times. He said this folder contents could be summarized as "parts of a project which was never finished."
