We had saved three of the early drafts done by Warfield before Roxana began helping with the book. They are dated July, September and November 1991. They are in Box 32, Folders 6, 9 and 10 at Fenwick Library Special Collections. These printouts, all in spiral bound softcover, begin in July 1991 when he printed the first review volume and sent it to a number of colleagues (including Roxana).
All three drafts are about 148 pages in length, but there is no continuous page numbering. Each section is numbered separately, and several planned sections have not yet been inserted.
We do not know the computer file names for these early drafts, but they are possibly all on John's computer if we just knew where to look, or even had time to look. Rose made several backup tapes as the handbook was being written, and those tapes are stuffed into a drawer somewhere. (r.w. circa 2000)
