Indictment of the Institution Called A University

Unfinished critique of modern educational practices in general and the university system in particular. Sees many of the problems stemming from communication problems and poor infrastructure. See also companion piece “Precepts of Good Education/Management: How Good Practice is Violated.”

Sent to GMU 27 September 2007. A three page unfinished document, which begins: What is wrong with the institution called "a university"? Warfield is trying again to pole-axe modern educational practices, in this unfinished paper written in 1996 which begins "what is wrong with the institution called "a university." and ends "the university administration seems to have no concept of design of new academic roles…." See also a companion piece, in pap056, titled “Precepts of Good Education/Management: How Good Practice is Violated,” which might have been planned as the next page of this one, but not yet attached to it and finished.
