This is Volume I of an eleven volume set containing reprints of reports written by IASIS staff members during 1985-1989. John Warfield is listed as co-editor with Alexander Christakis for the volume on Education, Volume 1. Other staff members were listed as editors of the other ten volumes. All volumes contain a Foreword page, signed by John Warfield, to tie the volumes together as a unit. Contents of Volume 1: I. Report on the Emergence of a New GMU Image for 1990(April 30, 1985). II. Curriculum Workshop: Mathematics for Computer Science (November 1986 and May 1987) III. Shared Governance in Selected Pennsylvania School Districts: A Workshop Exploring Inhibitors to Shared Governance and Strategies for its Realization (August 1988) IV. Designing a New Student Union Program for George Mason University (August 1988) V. Developing a Design Culture in Higher Education: A Workshop Held at University of the Aegean, Chios, Greece (August 1988).

The original reports issued during 1985-1989 were all softcover, spiral-bound editions. When the Center was terminated in 1989, Rose Warfield decided to donate all of the CIM reports to the library. However, since libraries will not accept softcover books, the reports had to be placed into hard cover bindings. There were so many CIM reports that individual binding would have been prohibitively expensive, so Rose grouped them together by topic, to be bound as an eleven volume set. Because several differently titled reports were grouped together, Rose had to think up new titles for each of the eleven volumes, which she did. Ann McKee, who was Serials Librarian at the George Mason Fenwick Library in 1990, helped in getting the volumes hardbound. She allowed Rose to piggyback the eleven volumes of CIM Reports as part of a Fenwick Library shipment of periodicals to the book binder. Rose assembled two complete eleven-volume sets, and sent them with the Fenwick shipment in July of 1990. The finished hardcover copies arrived back at Fenwick Library in August. One of the eleven-volume sets was donated immediately to Fenwick Library, and the other set was shipped to the Library of Congress. The master title for the eleven volume set was supposed to be CIM REPORTS. However, the librarians who did the cataloging decided to call the set CENTER FOR INTERACTIVE MANAGEMENT REPORTS, Vols. 1-11. When compiling the hardcover volumes, Rose added title pages naming editors and contributing editors connected with the reports in each particular volume. Christakis was listed most frequently as editor, also David Keever was listed as editor of several volumes. Warfield was listed as editor of Volume 1 only. (Warfield actually wrote most of the Chios report, and the NSF report on Curriculum for Computer Science, but other writers contributed also) Rose managed to get all of the other CIM staff listed somewhere in the eleven title pages, as Contributing Editors, and now all those young people's names are in the Library of Congress catalog.

. If anyone wants copies of CIM reports, the best source is Fenwick Library's eleven-volume set, which I think they still have on the shelves. David Keever took all the old CIM report masters with him when he left. Aleco Christakis has good soft-cover copies of all the original reports, in Philadelphia. Rose has masters of the Foreword, the Postscript, the title pages and tables of contents, in the IASIS office manuscripts file filed under CIM Reports, 1990.
