National Center for Sociotechnical System Research and Design: A Proposal to the National Science Foundation

A manuscript for a (unsuccessful) proposal to initiate Generic Design Science as an academic discipline, with practical applications put to use through a program of Resident and Visiting Fellowships in which the proposed Center would train visiting faculty from other universities. This is the manuscript for a proposal to initiate Generic Design Science as an academic discipline, with practical applications put to use through a program of Resident and Visiting Fellowships in which the proposed Center would train visiting faculty from other universities. On page 14 of the document is Figure 5 - which is a diagram of the DOMAIN OF SCIENCE model, with Links and Subdivisions. On page 27 is Figure 7, which shows photographs of DEMOSOPHIA, the situation room at Center for Interactive Management, George Mason University, with Alexander Christakis conducting an Interactive Management Workshop session. This was an unsuccessful proposal to the National Science Foundation - the request for funding was not granted by NSF. Had it been approved, the principal investigators for the contract would have been Warfield, Christakis and Ralph Widner. The amount of the proposal request was $8,337,870 for a proposed duration of 5 years.
