Overview: John N. Warfield's 30 Year Research Program on Complexity

A collection of three or four previous manuscript/reports combined under one cover with one continuous page numbering. Designed to be a general compendium to summarize and categorize Warfield’s work. See notes field for details.

This is a 71-page hodgepodge of three or four previous manuscript/reports combined under one cover with one continuous page numbering, as a general compendium trying to organize, summarize and categorize the author's work. Possibly it is intended as a companion to his recently finished compact disk sent to Scott Staley, a disk holding text of many of his recent papers. Warfield got a few copies printed as a tape-bound report in August 1998. He sent one copy to Scott Staley, probably will dispose of the others to various colleagues. Contents: 1. Research chronology in four periods: The Startup period 1968-1976, The Developmental Period 1977-1994, The Integrative Period 1995-1998, and The Future 1999 onward. (Also this is in separate filename chronodetails1968-1969.wpd, this paper was the talk given to visiting Chinese delegation, under title "Chronology of my Research…..on Complexity" in August 1998); 2. Warfield's organization of literature. A review of his computer files, mostly, explaining his crazy system of naming and categorizing his works. Plus some other works from earlier period; 3. “Demands of Complexity Meet the Killer Assumptions”. This is a printout of all the transparencies prepared for his 1998 short courses and his China talks, and the follow-up talks given later on the same subject; 4.What Questions Have Been Formulated and Answered in a 3- Year Research Program to Study Complexity?” This is a printout of about 30 presentation pages, originally prepared for use with the NASA TALK in August 1998, but not used fully there because they lopped off his time slot and he had to compress; 5. The Curriculum of Complexity. This is a one-page table or graphic, very complex and yet very simple, in which the ideas previously displayed are coordinated into a teaching framework.
