Philosophy Ignored: The Achilles Heel of the Software Industry

A work in progress that deals with the importance of including accurate and careful scientific inquiry into the process of writing software.

Warfield places the date on this as about 1987, but it might possibly be 1986, since he gives his address as Institute of Information Technology, which I don't think he used after 1986. The manuscript is a work in progress, dealing with the importance of including accurate and careful scientific inquiry into the process of writing software. Warfield also had a collection of 9 papers by other authors in the same folder with the manuscript, apparently to be used as references for a finished article. I put away all of these other papers in PAPERS BY OTHERS files, but I did leave a complete list of all of them in the folder with his incomplete manuscript, in case he wanted to find and refer to them in the future. Possibly my list of those 9 authors is still in Box 76 Folder 40 with the manuscript papers.
