A Science of Generic Design: Part I – Justification, Draft

This draft copy of A Science of Generic Design is composed of the first four chapters of the book. Also includes a preface and a table of contents for all 10 of the proposed chapters as well as the proposed appendices and indexes, with each chapter followed by numerous sub-divisional titles.

Warfield gave this copy to Rose in June, 1988, for her to use as an archive copy, to put in the basement file cabinet. The manuscript is composed of the first four chapters of the book, plus a preface and a table of contents for all 10 of the proposed chapters as well as the proposed appendices and indexes, with each chapter followed by numerous sub-divisional titles. The four chapters are: Ch. 1) A Context for a Science of Design: The Need for the Science, 37p. including references. Ch. 2) Universal Priors to Science: The Basis for the Science, 82p. including references. Ch. 3) A Domain of Science Mode: The Discipline for the Science, 25p. including references. Ch. 4) Managing Complexity Through System Design: The Use of the Science, 34p. including references. R.w., circa 1999 or 2000.
