This version of the book is now out of print.  It is available from Fenwick Library, George Mason University, using Call No. Q175 .W278, and from Library of Congress, Washington, D. C., using Call No. TA168 .W337-1994.  The  ISBN for 2nd edition= 0-8138-2247-5 (published by Iowa State University Press, 1994) LCCN 94-31802.  Copyright registration for 2nd edition TX 4-026-447.   Rose Warfield's home computer does have the files for this book in the folder ASOGD-1994, but they are all in VENTURA , an early publishing software which is now obsolete. The Ventura files we have now are still saved FOR HISTORICAL REASONS ONLY.  Fortunately Warfield had saved a paper copy of the 1994 manuscript and much later, in the year 2003 he was able to get the book transferred completely from paper to PDF files, enabling the printing and publishing of later editions. 

Thus it happens that today there are two digitized versions of this book:  1) a PDF DOCUMENT SCANNED FROM JOHN'S 1994 PRE PUBLICATION MANUSCRIPT.  And 2) a set of files created in Ventura software in 1988-1990 by John's secretary, Colleen Kearney. The final Ventura files were finished by Colleen in April and May of 1990, it was the last work Colleen did for John and the most treasured, she came to the office in the evenings and worked overtime and extra hours to finish the preparation of those difficult Ventura files for shipment to the publisher, keeping on the job until it was finished even after she had begun her new job in another office.  She left for a wonderful new position in GMU Publications department in the university's Administration Building, and in years to come she went on to become managing editor of the university's flagship magazine "Mason Spirit" as well as other publications.  

We saved all of Colleen's Ventura materials, in copies on John's office computer, and all the files are still with us today, on the Dell Computer, here in California as I type this,. And they are all obsolete and Ventura has gone out of business.  All the Ventura files are in this computer folder named ASOGD( A Science of Generic Design)
