The Ship of State and the Sea of Knowledge

The title “Ship of State” (encompasses the 55 pages), has been changed several times as the book has progressed. In 1996, the “Work Program of Complexity” incorporated all, or most of, “Ship of State.” See also, "Designing the Development of Regulatory Science."

This is a partial draft for a book. The title Ship of State (encompasses the 55 pages), has been changed several times as the book has progressed. As of this writing, in November 1996, the book title is "Work Program of Complexity" and it contains all or most of the 1995 document "Ship of State" plus considerable additional material. There is no printed IASIS report with the title "Ship of State" at least not now, although Warfield did print up several copies in 1995 and distribute to friends for critique. In August, 1995, Alexander Christakis, Whitehouse and Associates used a 32 page version of this paper, as Appendix D of the Interactive Management Report titled: "Designing the Development of Regulatory Science" a report printed and distributed as part of a contract with the United States Food and Drug Administration. PS, in 2015 Rose has noticed that On page 2 of the manuscript Warfield had typed a dedication: "To "Charley", who also experienced trigeminal neuralgia" Who was Charley? That could be none other than Charles Sanders Peirce. R.w. 5/30/2015.
