I wrote two annotations, on different occasions, and will leave them both here, since both are accurate and I don't have time to review and combine them. ANNOTATION NO. 1 - " Warfield's organization of literature" is mostly a guide to his computer files, and office shelves, explaining his crazy system of naming and categorizing his works. It also included mention of some other works from earlier period, before computers. He is trying to do a subject classification which is relative to his own studies of complexity, and has devised a confusing series of categories by which to achieve this. If I ever have the time I plan to go through this manuscript, sort out the categories and put them into a searchable database. Might not ever have the time. ANNOTATION NO. 2 - This is a review of Warfield's computer files, mostly, with some mention of earlier works. The paper deals with his attempts to categorize the titles of his papers into a series of subject headings centered around complexity. It was intended to be used in conjunction with his newly prepared CD-Rom holding many of his papers, which he gave to Scott Staley and Roxana Cardenas. Staley and Cardenas I know each got a copy of this paper, and maybe Henry Alberts and some others received copies. Later, the manuscript became one of the five short articles which were combined into a 28 August1998 tape-bound report titled "OVERVIEW: John N. Warfield's 30 Year Research Program on Complexity" and distributed to colleagues. My notes elsewhere add the information that another paper was usually distributed in combination with this one, it was titled Categories of Topics.
