Variations on a Theme of Foucault

An outline list for a slide talk that was never given.

This is basically an outline list for a slide talk that was never given. Warfield wanted to do this presentation jointly with Scott Staley at the Annual Meeting of the Association for Integrative Studies, Detroit, MI, October, 2003 but at the last minute decided against it because he found that AIS members were not receptive to the topic and stalling on his request for speaking time. This memo list, and a collection of slides intended for the AIS presentation were FOUND IN WARFIELD’S "WORKS IN PROGRESS" Note Binder. Rose scanned the list and the slide printouts into a single pdf file. There is no TEXT manuscript per se for this talk, as far as I can tell. This would have been the talk, if it had been given. Since it was not given, Warfield was left with the idea for the talk and the slides, and he said in 2003 that he felt the presentation was not finished and he wanted to do more with it. Here are two other PowerPoint slide shows which apparently evolved afterward. Both contain pieces of the original presentation plan, and both became part of John's 2007 PowerPoint collection sent to GMU: MTU69 VARIATIONSonFoucault (11).ppt MTU67 FOUCAULT'S SPACE OF DISCOURSE (6).ppt R.W., October 2011.
