Tear Down That Wall

A short article submitted to Atlantic Monthly that argues politicians have been unable to tear down the cognitive wall that prevents them from working systematically to resolve the issues facing the world. Notes that universities are suffering from the same problem. Suggests that his research and work can be used to tear down this wall. Article was not published.



NOT PUBLISHED NOT AT GMU It was one of the papers in a large note-binder labeled WORKS IN PROGRESS which I found Oct 2011. I scanned the hard copy in the note binder to a PDF filename <Tear Down That Wall> since I could not find the original in Warfield's old computer files. Warfield submits to Editors of Atlantic Monthly magazine a short article in which he attempts to bring recognition to his work which he feels can be used to tear down the wall of cognitive misunderstanding and miscommunication that threatens world peace and economic stability. The article was not accepted. Here is Warfield's abstract of the article, as printed in his manual prepared for his Systems Science short course in summer of 2007: "In a nutshell, this last article carries this message: politicians almost everywhere are unwilling to tear down the cognitive wall that prevents them from working systematically to resolve the issues that threaten world peace and economic stability; even though the means now exist to demolish that wall. It involves computer assistance in structuring the logic of inference that relates the numerous logic components of the situation. We can simply ask them: "tear down that wall" and hope that they might listen; and we might ask the same of the appropriate university faculty. Who have been awarding degrees to those folks for many years."
