THE EVOLUTION OF SYSTEMS SCIENCE

An unfinished book manuscript that explores the history of Systems Science. Includes pictures of important figures along with small blurbs about their work. It was going to conclude with the current Systems Science interest in behavioral psychology and social problems.

THE EVOLUTION OF SYSTEMS SCIENCE is the title for the Big Blue Note-binder holding papers collected for a book manuscript still in the idea stage, started January 2007. There is a "Preface" document which explains the book idea, something about the history of systems science with pictures of the scientists and little write-ups of their works, ending with the current systems science interests in behavioral psychology and social problems. In the computer folder (EVOLUTIONofSYSTSC) on Rose’s computer are nine papers collected for this new project:. The Evolution of Systems Science: a Tabular Presentation of ESS (ESS table.wpd); World 1: Learning to understand (ESS TABLE-1.wpd); World 4: The Resolving Human Being (ESS TABLE-4.wpd); Behavioral Pathologies Affecting Action in Groups (Pathologies Listing.wpd); Preface to the Evolution of Systems Science in Pictures (PREFACE.wpd); Province of Scientific Knowledge (PROVINCE OF KNOWLEDGE.wpd); The Cognition Partition: Toward the Horizons College (SENTCOPYCOGNITIONPARTITION.pdf); Six Roles (Types of Actor) in Human History (SIX ROLESinHISTORY.wpd); Systems Science:a Comprehensive Graphical Overview (SYSTEMSSCIENCEOVERVIEWCHART.wpd).

Hard copy items collected in a big blue note-binder. The note-binder has printouts of lives of Copernicus, Galileo, Kepler, Boyle, Newton, Euler, LaGrange, Fourier, Ampere, Ohm, Sadi Carnot, Lejeune Dirichlet, von Helmholtz, Maxwell, Gibbs, Boltzman, Heaviside, Tesla, Steinmetz. These photo biographies were possibly intended to be added to photo biography materials which Warfield had already collected on his computer. He had a large collection of these history of science figures. Other reference items in the big blue note-binder are 1- a copy of Panetics vol 5 issue 1 January 1996 with a copy of Warfield's article on modeling; 2- Wikipedia printout of history of physics; 3 - Wikipedia printout of Timeline thermodynamics, statistical mechanics and random processes; 4.- Offprint of an article by J. Lukasiewicz titled “The Ignorance Explosion,” [http://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1111/j.2164-0947.1972.tb02693.x/references] IN Trans. New York Academy Sciences.

NOTE: LATER I FOUND ANOTHER MANILA FOLDER MARKED "The evolution of systems science in pictures" with duplicates of some of the above, also these extra internet printouts, which for the time being I will just heave into the big blue notebook and let them stay a while: A. Appendix 1 Gallery. This is from Warfield's book Intro to Systems Science, it is the other photo biogs already collected, a printout from his book manuscript papers; B. Internet printouts from European Enlightenment Reader a web page of some sort. Has biogs of Descartes, Pascal, Rousseau, plus articles on Seventeenth Century Enlightenment Thought and The Scientific Revolution, also a general article on more philosophers of that period, Voltaire, Montesquieu, etc.; C. A paper by Warfield titled "STRUCTURING DISCURSIVITY" which might be an outgrowth of material he used in video lecture 5 or 6 years earlier, in year 2000 (Lecture #14 of MTU2000 series); C--A one-page paper by Warfield titled "For Inc" probably was sent to www.inc.com the business internet newsletter page; D. An alphabetical list of about a hundred economists. It is a list of their pictures; E. The Leaning Tower of Ivory: A Proposal - a one-page summary by Warfield of idea for an article regarding changes to educational system in the U.S.; F. Domain of a Science - another one pager by Warfield, just an outline representing science; G. A long article from Journal of Management Studies 43:1 January 2006, titled “Corporate Social Responsibility: Strategic Implications” by McWilliams, Siegel and Wright,. Blackwell Publishing, 2006; H. Author's guidelines printout from Journal of Management Studies, Blackwell Publishing.
