Issues in Public Management: Course Materials for Public Administration 729

This folder contains four sections: 1) the course syllabus for PUAD 729 2) Study Questions on Peter Senge's book A Fifth Discipline 3. “Twelve Laws of Generic Design” 4) copy of the article "Complexity and Cognitive Equilibrium: Experimental Results and Their Implications" by Warfield.

GMU HAS THIS REPORT IN HARD COPY FOR SURE, IN BOX 39, FOLDER 33 BECAUSE I STUMBLED ACROSS THE DIGITIZED VERSION IN WARFIELD DIGITAL COLLECTION IN 2013 WHILE HUNTING FOR SOMETHING ELSE. I DOWNLOADED THE GMU COPY INSTEAD OF SCANNING OUR HOME COPY, WHICH IS IDENTICAL TO THE ONE AT GMU. GMU HAS OTHER puad 729 STUFF IN SIMILAR FOLDERS SINCE THERE ARE QUITE A FEW REFERENCES TO PUAD 729 IN THE SC&A FINDING AID. In this little report which I found when unpacking in 2012, there are 4 sections.

1) the course syllabus for PUAD 729

2) Study Questions on Peter Senge's book A Fifth Discipline

3) Twelve Laws of Generic Design , a list from Warfield's book A Science of Generic Design

4) copy of the article "Complexity and Cognitive Equilibrium: Experimental Results and Their Implications" by Warfield, which was to appear in next issue of the journal human Systems Management.

I recall that Warfield did not have too high a regard for Senge's book, and that at one time he taught a course on Senge just to disrobe it, Possibly this is report is part of the same class he taught. I am not sure because I don't remember the date at which he was talking about Senge.

r.w. circa 2012
