Case Study for an Economics School of Thought (ESOT) 6

A profile and summary of the work of Richard Catillon, the “father of economics.” The is the second of only two “case studies” Warfield authored using his “ESOT” template to guide and organize research findings in a manner that could be somewhat calibrated. One of several short papers Warfield created for his Economics Research Studies. See also, “Case Study Format” and “Case Study for an Economics School of Thought (ESOT) 5.”

This is one of several short papers created by Warfield for his ECONOMICS RESEACH studies. A printout of both pages is in Econ Research Note-binder No. 5. The paper is a one-page summary of writings of Cantillon "father of economics" whose influential ideas undergo Warfield's analysis. Warfield's "ESOT" template is put to use to identify for influential persons of that era, their guiding philosophies, the problems associated with their philosophies, and the options brought forward to ameliorate the problems. A look at 15th -16th century thinking about banking, monetary values and financial trends. The second page of this paper is a Profile of Richard Cantillon, again a Warfield-designed template is employed to organize the data. This is second of only two "case studies" authored by Warfield, all using his "ESOT" template to guide the research and organize research findings in a manner that could be calibrated somewhat. Several more "case studies" were in the offing, in his notes and papers, but he completed only the first two, apparently putting the research plan aside until a less busy time after having laid out the framework for future use.
