Sent to John Warfield by Robert Waller, this edition of UNI Personnel Services newsletter INTERCOM, features the work of a career-management workshop conducted by faculty members to benefit women whose job-seeking had hit the "glass ceiling". Dr. Donna Thompson, an associate professor in UNI School of Health, Physical Education and Recreation was leader of the group, which made use of Interpretive Structural Modeling (ISM) to identify priorities for resolving career barriers which working women might encounter. The newsletter article includes a simple flow chart generated by the ISM exercise in which barriers to career advancement are identified and the relationships shown graphically.
