“Ode to Endless Love” is a long romantic poem written in Spanish by Reynaldo Trevino Cisneros, a Mexican colleague of Warfield's. Reynaldo wrote the poem about 2006 (between jobs, I think, but not sure about that. He changed jobs several times). He wrote to Warfield asking for help in translating the poem into English, and he and Warfield exchanged occasional updates on the project. Reynaldo continued to send additional stanzas for Warfield to work on, for quite a long time. There is probably a Spanish-language version of the "Ode" somewhere on Warfield's computer, but it would all be on Warfield's last computer, now at Dan Warfield's house, and I don't have any of those files. The reason I am dating the "ode" in the 2006-2009 time frame is that I remember Warfield talking about it and working on the translation while we were living in Sheffield, Alabama, and also because Tom Warfield visited Sheffield during 2007-2008 and 2009 and I see that Warfield added Tom's name as co-translator, so Warfield probably roped him into supplying a bit of his Spanish knowledge to the task. It is a good poem, and probably could get attention of a publisher, some day. At least, Reynaldo was hoping so. Reynaldo tried contacting Warfield by LinkedIn in 2010, a year or so after Warfield died. But I am sure Reynaldo knew he had died, because we got a funeral condolence, at least I think we did. I sent Reynaldo a message of some sort in 2010, updating him on my address telling him I didn't use LinkedIn. I don't know whether he got my email or not?
