We sent this VHS tape to Hayden Library, and the old 3/4 inch tape to GMU.
The videotape was filmed in the city of Kent, Ohio, circa 1978.
Jim Coke was a professor in Political Science department at Kent State Univ. Carl Moore taught in Kent State Speech & Communication department. Brother Ray Fitz a professor of Political Science and soon to be President at University of Dayton, Ohio, was one of the first persons to work with John Warfield on development of ISM, in the early 1970's when John was at Battelle Institute in Columbus.
Apparently Academy for Contemporary Problems (ACP) at Battelle Memorial Institute paid for the videotaping, since ACP is listed in the "producer role" in the film's opening screens . There is no copyright statement on the film, nor is there a date presented. However the sessions in these films must have taken place in 1978, or earlier, because the Kent City Council members were considering a budget for 1979 a forthcoming year, discussing priorities for for funds yet unspent. Therefore I have given the videotape a tentative "Event date" of 1978.
John Warfield told me in 2007 when I asked about Prof Coke, that Jim Coke had known Ralph Widner, ACP's director, and that Coke had been at ACP for a time, in 1973-74 where he had begun his use of Interpretive Structural Modeling (ISM).
On this tape Jim Coke does a good job of explaining Interpretive Structural Modeling. John Warfield was awfully happy when he saw the video, believing that at last his ISM might get wider recognition. John had hoped that Prof. Coke would continue with ISM use at Kent State and elsewhere. Unfortunately, Prof. Coke died in 1980 only a year or so after the video was filmed.
The Kent City Council video copy was formerly in the IASIS file cabinet at Fenwick Library, where it had the IASIS NUMBER of 79/014-Video. John Warfield also has a HOME copy of the video on a cassette titled "Two ISM Videos" and a digitized version on DVD.
