GMU Special Collection has numerous papers and reports on the Fisheries work but this 1985-1986 workshop film is the only set of videos. There are 22 videocassettes at GMU Library in the Special Collection which deal with this one National Marine Fisheries workshop, including these four big ¾ inch cassettes three of them were filmed on Sept 30, 1985 and a fourth on Jan 16, 1986. Probably they were master tapes. The label and numbering system on the NMFS cassettes is confusing. Perhaps CIM staff used different numbering systems to mark the tapes, on different days! Perhaps some of the cassettes have been lost when the office was moved. No way to tell at this late date. I am trying to keep them in order by date, as much as possible. There were several very successful Interactive Management sessions before the 1985-1986 sessions. David Mackett was the person who got Interactive Management processes started in NMFS, at his San Diego fisheries center, with the help of Alexander Christakis. David Mackett’s vision was recognized in later years, when he received a special national NOOA citation and award for his work done at SWFS (Southwest Fisheries Center) a division of National Marine Fisheries, which is an arm of National Oceanic Administration.
