Acuity Software: Tools for Visualizing Complex Issues (a slide presentation)

Summary: Pending
This person did his Ph.D. Dissertation on ISM in late 1960's or early 1970's. He also visited John in Charlottesville at one time. In August 1997 he contacted John at GMU through email, seeking updated information on ISM etc., in relation to his newly started software company, named Acuity Software. John mailed him Bibliography: ISM and Related Work Bibliography: Generic Systems Design & Interactive Management Disarmament & Demobilization (Carol Jeffrey's report on Liberia workshops) Essays on Complexity, July 1997 (August Reviewer copy) Crossing Theory and Hierarchy Mapping In September he sent John a check for $70 for purchase of one of the remaining copies of hardcover Handbook of Interactive Management, which Rose boxed up and mailed to him sending priority mail on September 17. ---------------------------------- This document (Acuity Software: Tools for Visualizing Complex Issues -a slide presentation) contains printouts of a seriews of 28 slides or transparencies, which describe a system for solving complex problems by adapting the use of ISM into a system called "SMS." The document was left with John by Fred Langhorst when he visited at John's GMU office on October 8, 1997. Acuity Software is the name of his new software company. The system he calls "SMS" seems strangely similar to the "Arizona System" in some of its features, such as the use of individual computers for the participants.
