Computer Implementation of Interpretive Structural Modeling, University of Dayton Report UDR-TR-7979 Part One. (EXCERPT, Pages 1-9)

Summary: Pending
A brief, simple description of the ISM process, these nine pages still hold their place as one of the very best Users Guides ever written for ISM. The material has been copied several times by later authors (notably ISM User's Guide by Christakis & Keever, IMC, Fairfax, Virginia., 1984, Pages 1-9,) Ray Fitz and his research team in Dayton published the Guide in 1979 as the opening section of a gigantic two-volume report prepared for the Environmental Education contract headed by John Warfield. Ray's two-volume report has the title "Appendix to Volume 4" There is a complete Fortran program for ISM inside the report. If you want to read the whole two volumes, the report can be found in Warfield Collection at Fenwick Library in Box 12 Folder 4. Ray Fitz's 1979 user guide was the second one written for ISM. (A first user guide had been written about 1972 at Battelle Columbus Laboratories) This same Ray Fitz acted as the facilitator for one of the earliest ISM sessions. The session was held at Ray's university (Univ of Dayton, in Dayton, Ohio) using a telephone wire connection to a computer in Columbus, Ohio. Topical headings in Ray Fitz User Guide include What is Interpretive Structural Modeling? Encouraging Participation in Collective Inq uiry An Overview of an Interpretive Structural Modeling Exercise Computer Equipment for Interpretive Structural Modeling Modular Approach to Equipment (continued in the report on pages after page 9, not in this folder, which just holds a small excerpt from the report) On Rose's computer the Dayton Ohio user guide is in filename: C:\invnrw\byothers\Excerpts from Computer Implementation of ISM.pdf to compare with the one copyrighted by Keever Christakis, see the filename: C:\invnrw\byothers\Excerpts from ISM User's Guide.pdf
