Fourth European School of Systems Sciences: Systems Thinking and Management Practice

Summary: Pending
This manual is of interest because it contains good well-printed copies of papers by John Warfield, and also because it contains a good paper written by Mike Jackson. (Beyond the Fads) John got his papers reprinted in the U.S. in his office report titled "Four Case Studies." Since I already have digital copies of John's papers priinted in this manual (Four Case Studies) I won't save a digital copy nor a hard copy of this hundred page item from Univ of Humberside. Instead of the full manual I have scanned only the title and subtitle pages and some abstracts for my PDF files on home computer. Here is a contents list and description of the Fourth European School Hunberside report: INTRODUCTION TO SYSTEMS THINKING ["Systems Approaches for Managerial Problem Solving," a paper by Mike Jackson] INTERACTIVE MANAGEMENT ["Four Case Studies: Applications of Interactive Management," 3 papers by John Warfield & 1 by Henry Alberts] VALUES THEORY ["The Holographic Organization," a paper by Brian Hall] SOFT SYSTEMS THINKING, [a paper by Keith Ellis] VIABLE SYSTEM MODEL ["The VSM revisited," chapter 4 by Raul Espejo from the book The Viable System Model, 1989] REVIEW [Beyond the Fads: Systems Thinking for Managers, an article by Mike Jackson in Systems Research, 12:1, 1995]
