Excerpt from Man of La Mancha The Impossible Dream

Summary: Pending
Sent to GMU September 27, 2007 Sheet Music for The Impossible Dream (Man from La Mancha) [single page excerpt used for teaching purposes] This is a single page excerpt from the sheet music for "The Quest" from Man of La Mancha. It is a photocopied page which Warfield sometimes used in his lectures to demonstrate the usefulness of graphical notation. a COMPANION to this page is the Warfield transparency titled "Sheet Music as a Language." The authors of this music are Mitch Leigh(music) and Joe Darion (lyric). John displayed a transparency of the music on overhead projector, or sometimes handed out a photocopied page for his lectures. The document was used, in John's words, " to support a presentation on how the features of sheet music show us conditions required to communicate properly, including the capacity to be uniquely translatable into prose." I tried to find records of where he used the sheet music example, so far Have found it in the records of INTERACTIVE MANAGEMENT SHORT COURSE taught for Mr. Ernzen and the PSOL students, Feb. 15-18, 1999, at Room 311, Johnson Center in George Mason University, and also as part of the Warfield presentation at ITESM Chihuahua campus of April 7, 1999, where the title of his talk was "Vertical Coherence" c:\invnrw\cells\cel213 Excerpt from Man of La ManchaThe Impossible Dream.pdf c:\invnrw\cells\The Impossible Dream.bmp
